nostos (2023)
Nostos takes its name from the ancient Greek νόστος - the return home - echoing the journeys of Homer’s Odyssey and the timeless human impulse to seek belonging. For centuries, human beings have moved across landscapes, seas, and borders, carrying with them memories, languages, and longing. In an era where migration, although natural, is deeply politicized, Nostos asks what it means to return and what it means to belong. Is home a physical place, a community, a lineage, or an internal state shaped by memory and desire? Merging personal experience with collective history, the work reflects on displacement and reconnection, tracing the emotional and symbolic geographies that define where, and how, we find home.
